In general guidelines that apply to usage of any public wifi, apply to our hotspots also. A sample list is given below:
- Do not connect to any unsecured/open wifi, or secured wifi whose password is not communicated to you via authentic sources
- If you see two WiFi networks with similar names (a letter or two different), please be cautious while connecting and connect only to the network that is secured and matches the name formally given to you via authentic formal sources and not the one that is giving the strongest signal
- Set your device to ask before connecting to any wifi network, rather than connecting automatically to the one with the strongest signal
- Enable hotspot 2.0 (Passpoint) setting on your device if available
- Consider using "cellular hotspot", in places where you get cellular signal instead of Public Wifi for all your devices or create your own hotspot when using multiple devices, especially when using banking and wallet applications
- Avoid doing bill payments AFAP, using credit/debit card, accessing bank account etc when connecting to the our hotspots
- Avoid entering personal data when using our hotspots
- Avoid using passwords while accessing any Internet service while using our hotspots. If at all you have to, then use them only on sites that are configured to use 2-factor authentication
- Disable sharing of services of any kind
- Use "https" and "SSL" instead of "http". Browsers support extensions that default usage to "https" for every website if available.
- Keep your OS and applications upto date
- Use firewall on your device
- Use VPN to encrypt your traffic and get highest level of security
Wishing you a nice and safe internet session while using our network.
